As we said in previous posts your blog is your brand thats why it is not enough just a name and a a logo, your blog needs something more. Once you have your blog up and running you have to create an identity, a brand identity involves more than just names and logos thats why in this posts I would like to talk you about “Signage”. The image is a very important part of the branding process and signage is going to help us increase our blog´s image.

But, what exactly is signage in a blog?

Well signage is a combination of visual elements that create an atmosphere or an enviroment inside the blog, in this way readers and visitors can feel comfortable and identified. The signage of a blog goes from the header to the footer and includes buttons, graphics, logos, solors and fonts. Your blog has to have its own “Soul” or its own identity, If you are usign red for links then you have to use that same color for all of them, you cannot have green links and others with red this tends to confuse your readers. Another useful tip is to use the same design for all your buttons, if you do so your visitors are going to know that all similar icons in your site are buttons and no other thing.

Always mantain the same ssize and color for the text, let me give you an example: Use read for tittles , blue for links and black for the body of your text. Let me talk again about buttons, if you have metalic buttons use the same design for all of them, if you have glossy buttons use the same glossy effect. If you think in your blog as a business and as a brand they you´ll act like its CEO, therefore you´ll try to make the most of your blog. Here are some steps to successfully define the brand of your blog. Ask yourself these questions, answer them and writte down the results.

1. What kind of products, services or information do you offer? Define their qualities.
2. What are the core values of your products , services or information?
3. What is the mission of your blog? Is it just to entertain yourself? Or to offer something to others?
4. What does your blog specializes in?
5. Who is your target market? If you define your market then it´s going to be easier to drive targeted traffic to your blog.
6. What is the slogan of your blog? What message do you want to transmit?

The following is a large post because it is about how to become rich learning from rich people, the other day I was reading an article about “The secrets of rich people” and I found a phrase that caught my attention : “Think like the rich, act like the rich and you'll be rich” simple but I think that there is a lot of truth in that phrase, so lets review some points.

What does rich person believes?

1. Rich people believe that they are creating their own destiny and that nothing in their lives is already decided.

2. Rich people are always thinking about winning while most people are just thinking about not loosing, this attitude gives rich people an advantage, because if they fail in something they are going to try again and again until they succeed, remeber that rich people do not surrender.

3. Rich people are commited to be rich. They have a strong desire to be rich and successful. And nothing less than that.

4. Rich people focus on opportunity. Other people focus on obstacles. If you are always looking at the black dot inside the white snow then you wont be able to focus on the opportunities. 5. Rich people are visionaries and they think BIG. They set challenging goals for themselves and they have the ability to see further.

6. Rich people admire other rich and successful people. Because as we are doing they learn from their experiences.

7. Rich people are open mind and they are always open for new ideas. They are aslo positives and they mix with other successful people because they want positive energy and motivation they dont have time for negative and pasive relations.

8. Rich people are willing to promote themselves and their values.

9. Rich people are BIGGER than their problems. Never forget that, no matter what, the sun is always going to shine. For rich people each second is a new opportunity.

10. Rich people get paid based on results. They chose not to get rich by time. Rich people know that the wost possible way to be financially independent is to sell your time.

11. Most people think that if you want to earn a lot of money, you'll have to sacrifice other things. Rich people believes that you can earn millions without sacrificing anything. Remember?, They have open minds!

How to use Templates in the New Blogger

As you know with New Blogger we are unable to use some hacks like hiding the navbar. But maybe the worse thing for some bloggers is that they are not going to be able to use some Blogger Templates with this new platform. Wel for those bloggers trying to use their own designs on Blogger (new version) let me give you a hot tip so they can successfully change the template. Try it remember that one of the steps to build a successful blog is the image and your blog has to have a good design even though it is a template but not the generic one. Here are the steps on how to use templates with the New Blogger.

1. Login to Blogger using your Google account.

2. On your dashboard choose the blog you want to edit and go to the "Template" section.

3. After that click on "Edit HTML"

4. Once you are in the "Edit HTML" section where you have the template code scroll down to the bottom of the page and choose "Revert to Classic Template"

5. Now copy the code of the template you want to use and paste it where you have the old code, jus replace it.

6. Check preview and if everything is ok then click "Save Template changes" and you are done!

How to Hide the Blogger Navbar

Ok bloggers, lets say you have a Blogger blog and you already have some published posts you have a descent number of readers but, your blog still looks like, well, like a "Blogger Blog"! why? because it still has what it is called the Navbar, you know, the one that has 50 pixels high and spreads across the entire width of the browser window, the one that has a search field and all that stuff. Well let me give you a tip to remove or just to hide that annoying thing.

They allow you to change the color of the navbar to match the design of your blog, but that doesn´t solve the problem, your blog is still marked as a "Blogger Blog". Blogger has to mark all blogs that are powered by them but I think it is enough if you have a button that links to them or something like "Powered by Blogger". Follow this simple steps to successfully remove the navbar. With this technique your blog is going to look more professional.

1. First of all go to your blog´s control panel.

2. Go to the "Template" section and save template changes.

3. Now copy and paste the grey code in your template as it is shown here.

4. Now save Template changes and republish.

This simple code should solve the problem ,if you did it well you might notice that now you have a gap between the header of your blog and the top of the page, if that´s the case let me give you a solution for that.

How to add a Favicon to your Blog

First of all a Favicon is an icon or a logo of a website or blog, some browsers display these icons next to the address or next to the title of the page. These icons are also used to identify a website or blog when you add it to your "favorites" they are very small (16x16 or 32x32 pixels) and they are usually in .ICO format. Blogger has a generic favicon for all blogs, but you can custumize your blog with your own favicon, these are the steps to do so.

1. You will need to create a Favicon. You can do this using some web tools that allow you to create a favicon from an image, you can do this using the Chami "Favicon from pics" online tool. What you have to do is select an image for your icon and then create your favicon.

2. After that, once you have created your favicon you´ll have to download it to your PC, your file has to be "favicon.ico".

3. Once you have your file in your hard drive you will need to host it somewhere different from your pc. Blogger does not support .ICO files so let me give you the trick I used, go to Freewebs and create an account, upload your favicon to your account and copy the URL where it is hosted.

4. After that copy this code:

5. Paste the code into your blogger template html code after the tag but before the tag and save the changes.

As you know there are many kinds of images, there are .jpg, .bmp, .png, .ai, .eps etc. all these image formats are used to build websites and blogs.
